A Little Randomness:
  • Today is Pizza Party Day!  ‘Mmm, pizzaaaa!’ as Joey Tribbiani from ‘Friends’ might once have said, or was it Michelangelo from ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’? Anyway, there is clearly nothing more delicious than a large pizza with its doughy yet crisp base, and its choice variety of savory toppings, tenderly amalgamated with molten cheese, onion and pepper.  Here are some ideas on how you might mark Pizza Party Day:
    • Have your own pizza party and invite all your friends to your house to make their own pizzas or at least choose their own toppings. Inexpensive and fun!
    • Visit a local pizza restaurant, ideally one where the chefs toss the pizza dough about in front of you, for an authentic Italian pizza-eating experience.
    • Spend the day meditating about great pizzas you have enjoyed in the past, maybe compiling an all-time top ten of your favorite toppings. Buon appetito!

Today's Bit of Inspiration:
  • “Keep your face to the sunshine and you can never see the shadow.” - Helen Keller

Have a fabulous Friday!

A Little Randomness:
  • Today is Drawing Day! You know you’ve always wanted to, to grasp a piece of charcoal and strike your creativity out across the world in a million shades of grey. To pick up a pencil and create the world in your head on the page in front of you, maybe its crayons that’s your thing. Whatever your medium, Drawing Day is dedicated to the artist inside of us and encouraging it to come out, and then letting it flourish every day of the year to follow!

A Little Randomness:
  • Today is Chicken Dance Day.  We’ve all seen it, it’s utterly ridiculous and usually performed in a bout of intoxicant driven lunacy. You tuck your hands into your arm-pits to make ‘wings’, and then you flap like an idiot in time with some particularly unfortunate music. All that aside, you’re having complete giggle fits with a bunch of your friends while you behave in a fashion that has the local sanitarium eyeballing you for membership. What are we talking about? The Chicken Dance of course! Chicken Dance Day commemorates this dance and its origins, and even gives you a chance to learn WHY anyone would do this terrible, terrible thing.

  • One of the happiest moments in life is when you find the courage to let go of what you cannot change."

A Little Randomness:
  • Today is Leprechaun Day!  The origins of Leprechaun Day are just as mysterious as the hiding places of the pots of gold belonging to the little folk. But Leprechauns themselves have been part of Irish folklore for thousands of years, and even though these tiny fairies have reputations for playing tricks and being mischievous, they are well-loved and deserving of a day to call their own.  It is said that if you catch a leprechaun, he will have to give you his pot of gold, but leprechauns are resourceful when it comes to defending their gold, and they are not easily caught. If you are unable to catch one of the wee folk on Leprechaun Day, you can still honor the day by nourishing your own pot of gold. Adding to a savings account is a guaranteed method of increasing your wealth, and perhaps your pot of gold will lure a sly leprechaun.

A Little Randomness:
  • Today is Stay Up All Night Night!

Everyone has pulled an all-nighter at least once in their lives—some for fun, like singing songs around a campfire, others for something not so fun, like finishing homework due the next day or working a late shift. For one day of the year, you can stay up in unison as hundreds of people across the world celebrate Stay Up All Night Night!  This is a chance to let loose and make some exciting plans with your friends, or just see where the night takes you. Whatever happens, the rule is simple: no sleep till morning! So why not challenge yourself and see how long you can stay awake before nodding off, or why not have your friends stay over and place a bet on who will fall asleep first? As long as you don’t have anything important to do the next day, go for it!

A Little Randomness:
  • Today is Lost Sock Memorial Day!  We don’t know where they go, but we know they’re always disappearing there. Is there some kind of vortex created within the whirl of hot air and tumbling wet clothes that exists within the drier? Or perhaps within the washer there is some form of strange kraken like creature that exists that eats them, and only the left one. Whatever the case, it is an inevitable fact of life that somewhere out there exists an ever growing pile of missing left socks, and Lost Sock Memorial Day is your opportunity to mourn your dearly departed foot warmers, wherever they may be.

Today's Bit of Inspiration:
  • Baby steps count, as long as you are going  forward. You add them all up, and one day you look back and you’ll be  surprised at where you might get to.” - Chris Gardner

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

A Little Randomness:
  • Today is Poem on Your Pillow Day!

This was created by www.tweetspeakpoetry.com and celebrates the delight and surprise of poetry in a very understated and subtle way – by encouraging observers to leave a small poem onto the pillow of your guest, your friend, children or even partners.

It’s meant to be a surprise for the recipient, a little something to brighten their day or give them something to think about before bedtime.  The website has a whole host of small poems which are perfect for printing out and leaving on someone’s pillow – funny poems, romantic poems, thoughtful poems, there’s plenty to choose from.  Because poetry has been used for centuries as a way of telling stories, entertaining, and articulating true feelings for the recipient, this is a time-honored way of spreading a little joy. And in a modern age where everything is digital, it’s a sweet nod back to a time where leaving little notes around for friends and family was the only way of texting!

A Little Randomness:
  • Today is No Diet Day!  No Diet Day represents a journey of nearly half-way into the year, and nearly half a year from our New Year’s Resolutions. For those who have held fast to them, this often means that they have endured five months of careful consideration of their diets. After all, Summer is nearly upon us and the past six months have typically been used to drop off enough weight to leave them looking fantastic in their Summer clothes. Such dedication deserves recognition and reward, and that’s why No Diet Day exists. On this holiday adherents are free to let themselves loose from the shackles of their diet and enjoy one day of glorious freedom.

Today's Bit of Inspiration:
  • If you want to be happy, set a goal that commands your thoughts, liberates your energy and inspires your hopes.”

A Little Randomness:
  • Today is Two Different Colored Shoes Day!  Have you ever stood in front of your closet, staring at your collection of shoes, and wondered… Which of these are actually appropriate for wear today? The red flats? The white pumps? The lavender cross-trainers? What if you could just wear… whatever caught your eye? Even if it was two different colors? In fact… What if that was actually preferable? Sound like a madcap shoe-color heaven? We certainly think so! Two Different Colored Shoes Day celebrates diversity by wearing shoes of a different color, and as a result it’s an absolute favorite of ours!
